This Seti River of the Gandaki River System originates from the southern slopes of the Annapurna Himal. It flows through Pokhara valley where at various points it passes through spectacularly narrow and invisibly deep gorges from under the surface of the valley. It later meets Madi in Tanhun district and then joins Trisuli River at Khonre. Originated from Byas, Api and Saipal Himalayan ranges at a point north from Doti district, this river should not be confused with the Seti river of Gandaki river system which is a different river. Seti Zone is named after this important river system of mid western Nepal.
