This district is lacated in the plane areas of Sagarmatha zone. Sankha or the Conch Shell is also an object of religious and cultural significance in Nepal. This also used as the offering vessel during sacred worshipping rituals Sankha is a symbol of Lord Vishnu. SAGARMATHA ZONE
with an area of 4873 square miles, Sagarmatha is one of the 14 zones of Nepal. This zone stretches from the Tibetan border on the north to the Indian border on the south and is bounded by kosi zone on the east and janakpur zone on the west. The highest peak of the world i.e. Mt. Sagarmatha (Everest) lies in this zone. Lofty Himalayas and high mountains as well as valleys and plains are there in it. Natural resources such as mica, copper, limestone, salt, potash, timber, herbs etc. are potted in this zone, but none are exploited. There is also a great possibility of generating hydroelectricity. Industry is not in developed stage in this zone as most of the people depend solely upon agriculture. However, small scale industries and cottage industries are found at various places in this zone. Though several roads are being constructed, yet transport here is still in very backward stage. Solokhumbu, Khotang, Bhojpur, Udayapur, Siraha and Saptari are the districts of this zone.
