An ideal woman, wise, tolerant and all virtuous, Sita was the daughter of King Janak and consort of Rama. She participated equally in happiness and in tortures that came across the life span of her husband, Rama. A prominent figure in Ramayana. She had shown her all best virtues at several trials and at last even sacrificed her own life for the relief of her husband. see Ramayana.
