The national language of Bangladesh and the official language of West Bengal, India. Bengali language is also spoken by some 30,000 inhabitants of Nepal comprising 0.15% of the population of Nepal. Most of them live in the districts of eastern Nepal such as Jhapa district of Mechi zone; Morang and Sunsari districts of Kosi zone; and, the Saptari district of Sagarmatha zone.
