Ministers greet Jain Guru who walked for 224 days to reach Biratnagar

Biratnagar, July 22: Jain Guru Acharya Shri Mahashraman who travelled on foot from India was given an upbeat welcome at the Biratnagar entrance point this morning. 

Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Mahesh Acharya and Minister for General Administration Lal Babu Pandit welcomed the Jain Guru who was accompanied by hundreds of his followers at the Salt Trading Corporation in the district. 

Guru Mahashraman travelled on foot for 224 days from Delhi in India to participate in the Chaturmasa festival scheduled to start from August 1. The guru entered Nepal through Birgunj transit point. 

Thousands of devotees from Bihar, Rajasthan, Maharastra, Bengal and Assam in India and locals from Biratnagar lined up the street to welcome the religious guru. The guru will give sermon every day from the beginning of the festival. 

For the festival to last for four months, a total of 700 residential shelters have been constructed for foreign revelers, according to organizing committee coordinator Surendra Golchha. RSS
