Kathmandu, July 19: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has said that a situation should not arise whereby the investors who have come to the country are discouraged.
He made the remark while meeting with representatives of Butwal Power Company who had come to hand over contributions to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund at his official residence in Baluwatar this morning.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Koirala also urged Chair of the Company Padma Jyoti to inform him of any administrative hassles in course of developing the hydropower projects, while expressing concern over the failure to speed up with hydropower projects even with the signing of the PTA and PDA agreements.
A contribution of Rs. 4.5 million was received from the Butwal Power Company to the PMDRF. CEO of the Company Uttar Kumar Shrestha handed over a cheque worth the amount to Prime Minister Koirala.
Others making contribution to the Fund today include the Nepal Feed Industries Association that donated Rs. 2 million, Siddhartha Finance donated Rs. 669,381 while the NBCBS based in Nakhu, Karyabinayak of Lalitpur contributed Rs. 304,350.
Similarly, the AASMAN Nepal also based in Dhobighat, Lalitpur donated Rs. 173,718, Country Development Bank in Banepa donated Rs. 162,000, the Madi Dahal family in Kathmandu contributed Rs. 138,910 while the Legal Aid and Consultancy Centre (LACC) donated Rs. 100,500.
Also making contributions to the PM’s Fund today was the association of Nepali students in Bangladesh that contributed Rs. 80,000.
Ashish Pandey and Dhansur Shahi of the National Democratic Students’ Association handed over the amount collected from the students to the Prime Minister to be used as support to the quake survivors. RSS
