Inform about any misuse of relief support immediately: PM Koirala

Kathmandu, June 28: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has urged donors to immediately inform his office or the government authorities in case of any instance of misuse of the relief amount and material support received from home and abroad to the quake survivors.
The Prime Minister made this request during a meeting with representatives of various organizations who called on the PM to handover contributions to the PM’s Disaster Relief Fund here this morning.
He also reiterated his pledge to not allow misuse of the humanitarian support made by individuals and organizations by deducting their own share. The Prime Minister said the donors should also maintain vigil over the possible misuse of their contributions.
The Prime Minister on the occasion received a contribution of Rs. 30 million from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal or CAAN, Rs. 10.2 million from Lumbini bank limited and Rs. 3.5 million from Nepal Jesuit Society.
Also handing over cheque to the Prime Minister were representatives of Anurupata Cooperatives (Rs. 250,000), K&K College (Rs. 200,000) and Nepal Canada Friendship Society (Rs. 111,000 each), Nepal Numismatic Society (Rs. 101,100) and Federation of Drug Demand Reduction or FDDR (Rs. 58,000).
Likewise, the family of Hira Lal Shrestha, a resident of Jorpati in Gokarneswar municipality-6 donated Rs. 50,151 to the PM’s fund.
On behalf of the family, Ranjana Shrestha handed over the cheque to Prime Minister Koriala at the function held at the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar. RSS
