KALCHAKRA

Kalchakra means wheel of life and it turns the wheel of life.  Kalacakra is also the title of a work in one of the division of the Kangyur, the great series of Buddhist texts. It is possible that Kalacakra is the personification of that work. Kalacakra is usually projected as a Yidam with four heads and a third eye in each of them. He may have twelve or twenty four arms but never has more than two legs. In his Yi-dam form he is shown in dark blue colour. His body is covered by a tiger skin and wears a belt formed of Bajras. He is always presented as stepping by his left leg on two demons. The personage under the right foot holds a bow and an arrow as well as a Trident and a Khatvanga.
