Korea hands over heavy equipments worth Rs 160 million

Kathmandu, July 29: The Republic of Korea has handed over 24 heavy equipments worth Rs 160 million to the government of Nepal. The equipments are used to remove the quake debris and for construction. 

At a programme organised here today, Korean Ambassador to Nepal, Choe Young-jin handed over the equipments to Home Secretary, Surya Prasad Silwal. 

Similarly, senior vice-president of the Doosan Infracore, Jae Jong Jin, also handed over additional three heavy equipments to Silwal. 

On the occasion, Secretary Silwal expressed gratitude towards the support provided by Korea for the support of quake survivors and appreciated the support of Korea in Nepal's socio-economic development. 

Informing that the government was in preparation to form an Emergency Rescue and Search Centre, he expressed the belief that Korea would also provide its support to it. 

Likewise, Ambassador Choe said that his country launched various programmes regarding rescue, relief, search and support after the quake and provided support worth Rs 150 million on it. He further said that Korea has already announced to provide one billion rupees for the reconstruction, resettlement, rehabilitation and new construction in Nepal. RSS
