Fruits’ plants distributed

Khotang, July 12: The farmers in Khotang district have been provided with as many as 127,430 plants of fruits this year. 
Aiming to increase the fruit production and make the district self-reliant in fruit, the District Agricultural Development Office distributed 101,500 plants of cardamom, 13,000 orange plants, 8,000 of lemon, 1,000 of Junar and 1,500 lychee plants were given. Likewise, the plants of mango, guava and pomegranate were also distributed to farmers. 
Senior Agricultural Development Officer at the Office, Shyam Prasad Rijal, said that the fruits’ plants were given to the farmers to help increase the their income through commercialisation of agriculture. 
He added that the fruits’ saplings were offered after conducting the feasibility study of the production. RSS
