No Maggi for Indian cricket team anymore!

New Delhi: Indian cricket team management has given instruction to the hotel not to serve Maggie or any instant noodle to the cricketers.

The order comes in the wake of a controversy over the alleged presence of lead and taste-enhancer monosodium glutamate (MSG) in the noodles beyond permissible limits.

The Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket squad arrived in Dhaka on Monday for a short series against Bangladesh, featuring a one off Test that begins on Wednesday followed by three One-day Internationals.

The 14-man side flew in from Kolkata, where it had assembled for a brief camp before the series.

Earlier  Over 1,000 army canteens and some Navy canteens have been asked to set aside existing stock of the popular snack Maggi noodles until further orders.

Cracking down on Swiss giant Nestle, Central health watchdog FSSAI banned all variants of Maggi noodles terming them as "unsafe and hazardous" for human consumption. However, the company also maintained that its noodles are safe for human consumption.
